The existence of great national potential and talents, as well as the culture of using medicinal plants in the country, and with a specialized, systematic and comprehensive perspective, led to the formulation of the Peganum Cultivation and Industry Strategy to achieve sustainable development management in the medicinal plant sector. This strategy considered the macro dimensions of economic, environmental, health development (pharmaceutical self-sufficiency), sustainable employment, and preservation of genetic reserves in the national arena, along with foreign exchange generation.
